Resource-efficient, flexible, and compliant with the highest safety standards – your recycling partner for collecting systems, sorting facilities, and manufacturers
We offer companies a safe and efficient solution for the recycling of household batteries and small accumulators. Due to our closed-loop recycling, critical raw materials and valuable materials are fed back directly into production cycle. Collecting systems can ensure that their batteries are recycled safely, responsibly and sustainably - including monitored storage as well as the return of packaging and filling materials for reuse.
We recycle NiMH, high-grade and low-grade lithium accumulators. These batteries are used as feedstock for the production of chemicals that are returned to the closed-loop cycle. Primary (non-rechargeable) batteries, such as alkaline-manganese batteries, cannot be treated.
These accumulators are used in:
Our recycling process combines thermal deactivation, mechanical treatment, and hydrometallurgical process step. Thanks to this coordinated method, we produce high-quality chemicals that can be fed back directly into production cycle. Due to the increased fire risk posed by smaller batteries, we place special emphasis on safe transport, monitored storage, and high safety standards to ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable recycling.
We manage the entire recycling process for your NiMH, high-grade, and low-grade lithium accumulators - from first consultation until final recycling certificate. The process starts with consulting and initial assessment to gather information about your material for preparing a customized recycling and transport offer. The batteries are stored under strictly monitored conditions and highest safety standards, for being recycled professionally. As well, we ensure to return flexibly packaging and filling materials to be re-used. Finally, we issue a recycling certificate that records the volume, process, and date of recycling. This certificate not only ensures legal certainty but also builds trust.
While many recyclers stop after mechanical processing, leaving only black mass – that is often shipped abroad for processing - we take a decisive step further. Our hydrometallurgical process – a process that has been established for centuries and continuously enhanced and refined by our R&D – enables us to produce high quality chemicals such as nickel, cobalt, copper, and lithium salts. These raw materials are returned directly into battery production. Thereby we not only make sure to recover raw materials but also make available high-quality materials for the production cycle.
You have a time-sensitive recycling request? No problem. We offer a flexible and schedulable recycling service that can be precisely aligned with customer-specific requirements. Special requests we place a priority on, to provide capacities even during ongoing operations to recycle batteries reliably and efficiently. In case you need supervised recycling - for example, of prototypes to protect intellectual property – we do offer as well. This puts our customers in a position to benefit from tailored solutions that integrate seamlessly into existing processes while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.

Our processes are designed to handle large volumes - ideal for the growing battery market.
All process steps are continuously monitored and carried out under the highest safety standards.
Highly efficient recycling processes that already meet future EU requirements.
All services from a single source - no long transport routes, just efficient, local processing.
To broaden our service portfolio for the future, we have deliberately optimized our existing recycling processes for household batteries and small rechargeable batteries. This enables us to operate efficiently, reliably, and sustainably in this growing market segment as well.
Batteries are first collected at designated collection points, such as supermarkets. They are then sorted by composition and packed safely before being delivered to Nickelhütte Aue for professional recycling.
No. Not all battery types are compatible with our recycling process, and contaminants could negatively affect treatment.
